So Newsarama put up preview pages of Countdown to Adventure.

I've never been into Adam Strange, but after the Brave and the Bold arc, I'm in for this.

Why we shouldn't be excited? The creative team? Starfire? The back up? I'll buy it but it's not going to be one of the books I anticipate.

Well, I like Beechen. I can't recall if I like or dislike Gray. And I pretty much don't care about art unless it's well and truly awful, like last week's JSA: Classified. So I don't think the creative team is a limitation for me.
For me, it's my complete apathy for the main cast. Adam Strange? Meh. Starfire? Bleh. Forerunner? Haven't seen anything to differentiate her from the standard Warrior Race template.
I'll be picking up the first issue solely out of devotion to Buddy Baker. Any more than that... well, the first issue better aim to impress, is all I can say.

I really like Adam Strange, but the inclusion of Forerunner is what's keeping me from buying this. I know I don't have to read the Forerunner stories, but I don't want DC to get the mistaken impression that I support this character.
